June 9-26, 2013 - This trip is sold out!
Namibia has become a staple in our ministry. The summer of '13 will mark our sixth trip over to serve the youth and people of Namibia.
Bryan and Dana Bullington are dearly loved missionaries from our church family; they have been serving in Namibia for 17 years now and the Lord continues do to incredible things through their youth ministry in Windhoek, Namibia. What started as a smalll bible study has grown into a large weekly youth outreach called YWAP (youth with a purppose). They now have many students coming to the high school YWAP on Friday nights, and just as many coming to the Jr. High YWAP on Saturday nights. They have been given an incredible place and opportunity to reach the youth of Namibia.
Our teams travel to Namibia to support Bryan and his ministry with music and drama outreach in local high schools and primary schools, to encourage students to recognize that they do have a purpose, and also help get the word out about YWAP. We get to see unbelieveable things happen in the lives of the Namibian youth as well as our own. It is powerful for the Namibian youth to see students living out lives for the Lord. Many of them get ridiculed or even beat up at school for being a Christian, and they all need to be encouraged to follow Christ fully.
We also get to work with the children at Beautiful Kidz, an day-care center in the impoverished area of Windhoek called Katatura. Most of the children at Beautiful Kidz have been orphaned by AIDS. In fact, out of the 1.8 million people that live in Namibia, an estimated 180,000 of them are orphans due to AIDS and other diseases. These are staggering numbers: that's 10% percent of the entire population.
